The State of the Union 3 National Editorial/National Politics The Sarah Palin Resignation

The State of the Union 3 National Editorial/National Politics
The Sarah Palin Resignation

The Announcement over the holiday weekend was as abrupt as you will see in Politics as Sarah Palin resigns as Governor of Alaska which will take into affect July 26, 2009. Palin will be succeeded by Lt. Governor Sean Parnell. Is this Good Republican Strategy for Palin to resign as Governor of Alaska if she expects to run for President of the United States in 2012? What about Alaska, and Alaskans whom voted her in as a Republican, what does her resigning mean to them and the State?
Right when it is a good time for politicians whom are women serving what good does it for her to leave the Governors Seat and become a Private Citizen? Many Republicans including myself see this as a bad move because it undermines the party when an elected leader resigns, and gives no real reason why she is resigning other than for personal reasons. Almost laughing about it during the most recent press conference, Palin's even hinting that she is still planning to run for President in 2012, but still has yet to make the announcement. Ironically after her announcement that she was going to resign, she received money from contributors. Sometimes it is hard to understand the moves of people in politics.
Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, a Republican, said on Face the Nation “It’s astonishing”. Former Palin allies Wes Keller and Senator Lisa Murkowski accused Palin that she “decided to abandon the state and her constituents”. So What is going on with Sarah Palin and Why is she resigning as Governor of Alaska?
There are a lot of World Issues that each Governor has to face as leaders along with the President. Sarah Palin is no different. Right now peoples speculation on Palin's reasons why she quit are all irrelevant. But as a Republican I see this as bad strategy, a bizarre way of doing politics, and also I see her as being a Good Strong Governor of Alaska while she served. Governor Palin has served Alaska since winning against Frank Morkowiski in 2006.
Not to forget North Korea has been threatening the United States with War, and it is a duty of the elected official to show some reliability during a crisis such as this one.
Republican Strategy is what the State of the Union 3 is all about, its theme. The resignation of Palin is not good for the GOP no matter how you look at it. In the last election as a Vice Presidential Candidate, still Barack Obama defeated John McCain by a landslide victory.
Will this move then help or hurt other Republicans trying to emerge into the political scene with their own political capital? Most of all during a time when the Nation needs good politicians from each State, what just showed is that she is not going to work the whole term that she was elected for? So if she ran for President and expects to win, what would happen if she later just out of the blue wanted to resign? The Governor of Alaska is a prestigious position. Jamestowncalif.com covers National Politics, and I understand Alaskans are a little different, but Republicans all share mostly the same values whether you like a politician or not. Some of these leaders don’t realize that they are people too just like you.
Perhaps if she finishes her term or was close to the terms ending then ran for President in 2012, I might consider to vote for her. The reason is because there are a lot of Republican Women in Southern California under the Federation of Republican Women that support Palin and I support whom they support. In this case every Republican is as baffled as I am regards to her resigning, but some people may not think her resigning is as big of a deal as I do.
I think the Republican Party have a lot of issues amongst their party that need to be addressed. Palins resigning though helps individuals. In a few weeks, if Palin remains out of politics, everyone will soon forget about the TV Interviews and speeches. Although I liked her stances on some issues, I didn’t like her some speeches which sounded like some of the same propaganda that we all heard in the prior 1st term Administration.
She is be a good person inside, a great family person, and the reason she gave for resigning was for family reasons. So we will leave it at that, and leave it by her word. People are already asking did she resign to get a start on the Presidential Campaign of 2012?
Even with the Obama Administration not getting any more popular, the Republicans couldn’t look any worse than this having Sarah Palin out of the blue just resign her post as Governor of Alaska. The Republicans are going to have to dig deep on finding a candidate or Sarah Palin may consider stepping into the Presidential race in 2012 mostly because there are no other popular Republicans and in fact many are unpopular. It has not been a good year for Republicans when you have some Party members switching parties after being elected as a Republican then going Democrat.
Can Sarah Palin come out of resignation and become Governor of Alaska?
I think it was a bad move to resign, and in these times Palin should have consulted with the Party before just quitting.
Will Palins Resignation help her or hurt her for her bid for running for President of the United States if she chooses to do so? Did she abandon her state and her constituents as other leaders have said? I am sure the people that voted for her a good percentage are questioning why they even voted for her in the first place. Still Palin remains popular in Alaska and many people throughout the West still support her.
